Interfaith groups call for the protection of Palestinians' freedom of worship in Jerusalem
Sept.18, 2015 — We, the undersigned, come together in solidarity with Palestinians, especially those who have been prohibited from worshiping in peace and security at the Al Aqsa mosque sanctuary due to the escalation of Israeli settler violence, which is supported by the Israeli police and military.
Response to the protest pamphlet “Reformed and Reforming: A Word of Hope”
As many of you are aware, a pamphlet was recently sent to all PC(USA) congregations entitled Reformed and Reforming: A Word of Hope. The basic message in this pamphlet is that PC(USA) General Assembly procedure is seriously flawed and needs to be changed. The “presenting problem” was the 2014 decision of the 221st General Assembly (GA) to divest its portfolio from financial assets in Caterpillar, Hewlett Packard and Motorola Solutions for profiting from the illegal occupation of Palestine.
With Courage in Cleveland, UCC votes for BDS: Divestment from the Israeli Occupation marches forward
Cleveland, OH — July 1, 2015, The Israel/Palestine Mission Network (IPMN) of the Presbyterian Church (USA) congratulates the United Church of Christ (UCC) for boycotting and divesting from the Israeli occupation. The UCC’s 30th General Synod voted by an overwhelming majority to divest from five companies profiting from the illegal occupation of Palestinian territory and to boycott all settlement goods. Delegates also recommended Kairos Palestine for prayerful study.
IPMN Condemns Racial Hatred
June 20, 2015 — The Israel Palestine Mission Network of the PC(USA) joins its partners in faith and advocacy here at home and across the globe in condemning all forms of hatred, especially racial hatred that has resulted this week in terrorism and heinous killings in South Carolina. Sharing their statement below, we join our partners at FOSNA in praying and working for justice in our time.
