<image:title>PJN Blog - Haifa: A Mixed City - I have been politically active since 2010. I began as a Democratic precinct chair, then served as treasurer of the county party, and then I was a candidate for Congress in multiple election cycles. One time, I came close to winning the seat in my very red area of North Texas! As a Unitarian Universalist, my platform was always rooted in the first UU principle, a belief in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. I combined that with my background as a retired CPA to advocate for an economy that truly works for all. I’ve done my best to be informed about the issues that are important to people, and to speak out on the side of ALL the people, not the few. I’m determined that we can make this world better for ALL. I was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but my family moved to the Dallas, Texas area when I was 8- years-old, and I’ve been here ever since. I’m a fan of lifelong learning, so being a part of this delegation was an incredible learning experience for me!</image:title>

<image:caption>Firas Thabet, Gaznica, 2025, acrylic on canvas, 127 x 152 cm. Courtesy of the artist. “Every brushstroke in my paintings carries the pain of a nation.” Firas Thabet’s work appeared in the "Gaza Biennale” in an exhibition entitled From Gaza to the World, which opened on September 11, 2025 in Brooklyn, NY. Most of the 25 artists remain in Gaza, and do their work amid the rubble of the ruins which Israel has reduced Gaza to. Thabet’s Gaznica, like Picasso’s Guernica, shows devastation and despair and illustrates that in a time of war and genocide, art is not a luxury but an essential record of life as well as death.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Joan Deming, married to Don Schultz, mom of 2 daughters and grandmother to 2 amazing preschoolers. I live in Minneapolis, MN near one daughter and her family, but lived most of my life in Wisconsin. I am a retired United Methodist pastor, a member of the Wisconsin Conference. I split my career between local church ministry (28 years) and nonprofit leadership (15 years), with the last 10 years before retirement focused on support for Palestinian Christians and leading groups to visit Israel/Palestine. I worked for Pilgrims of Ibillin, supporting the work of Abuna Elias Chacour at his schools in Ibillin plus other peace-building organizations in Israel and the West Bank. My ongoing partner in leading trips has been Wi'am Center for Conflict Transformation in Bethlehem, and I have continued to work with their leadership to lead Living Stones pilgrimages after retirement. My hobbies include gardening, hiking, quilting, knitting, and anything my grandchildren want to do.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Rev. Christy was pastor of 1st Presbyterian Church in Oil City, PA for 11 years. She retired during the pandemic and moved to Pittsburgh where she began a part time position at Bellevue United Presbyterian Church, where she is currently serving. She has worked in a Presbyterian Church in one way or another since she was in college. She traveled to the Middle East (1966, and mid-1970) with her family. Their travels were not as much about touring as they were about understanding situations of conflict and struggle in that region. I grew up hearing missionaries (example: Dr. Ken Bailey) who lived in the Middle East (and around the world), who had eyes to see a different perspective than what is offered here in the USA. Rev. Christy is honored to be a part of this community.</image:caption>

<image:title>PJN Blog - Two Hours and 50 Minutes at a Checkpoint - Rev. Marietta Macy</image:title>
<image:caption>Rev. Marietta Macy (she/they) was first introduced to the subject of Palestine and Israel while serving as a Youth Advisory Delegate for the PC(USA) General Assembly in 2004 and has stayed connected ever since. She graduated from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2014 with her M.Div. and from 2013-2019 she served in various roles on the Steering Committee of the Israel/Palestine Mission Network of the PC(USA) including as Co-Moderator. Having grown up on a farm in rural southern Indiana, she recognized a shared language of kinship with the land expressed by indigenous Palestinian farmers which has greatly shaped her theology of creation and our place in it. Serving as a Christian educator for most of her professional career with children, youth, and youth adults, she now serves as Associate Pastor of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church in Charleston, West Virginia. <image:title>PJN Blog - A Message from the Delegation to the U.S. Embassy - Rev.
Serving as a Christian educator for most of her professional career with children, youth, and youth adults, she now serves as Associate Pastor of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church in Charleston, West Virginia.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Mary Gene Boteler is a retired PCUSA pastor. She lives in Westerville, OH, a suburb of Columbus, with her husband. Dr. Rick Nutt. Their travel in Palestine/Israel/Jordan and their hosting of international partners from Palestine have led to their advocacy for justice for Palestinians, as well as a meaningful peace in the region. During the last eight months they conducted a monthly study in preparation for a pilgrimage they were to lead in November 2023--a pilgrimage that was unfortunately cancelled. They welcome the opportunity to stand with friends, new and old, in the region reminding them that they are not alone. Boteler serves on the Board of Trustees at Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, is past president of the Board of Directors of Presbyterian Publishing Corporation, has represented the denomination on both national and international Presbyterian delegations, and spends hours canvassing for progressive candidates. She and her husband have two grown daughters and two grandchildren.</image:caption>

He has been a member of IPMN since 2012 and served on the steering committee between 2014 and 2017. He has also served as co-moderator of the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship and as a member of the Fossil Free PCUSA steering committee. Bob has traveled to Palestine with several delegations, both as a participant and as a co-leader. In addition to joining movements for justice, Bob loves watching baseball, playing softball, hiking with his family, running, and watching his son grow up right before his eyes. <image:caption>Rev. Addie Domske (she/her) was rooted and raised in rural America and formed professionally in the halls of McCormick Seminary and the school of social work at University of Chicago. As of late, she has been doing ministry in exurban tech hubs like California’s Silicon Valley and the Seattle area. Addie has served nationally on the board of the PC(USA)’s Israel/Palestine Mission Network, the theology advisory board of Friends of Sabeel North America, been on the faculty of IPMN's Hosanna Preaching Project since 2016, and is a co-founding member of the national network, Presbyterians for Abolition. She has (gratefully) been to Palestine many times, but her favorite trip was leading the 2018 Keep Hope Alive trip, which was the first trip comprised of all young adults. In May of 2022, Addie and her spouse welcomed their baby, Sagan Jan-Zi Domske, into their family.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - AVAILABLE NOW! A Congregational Study Guide on Kairos Palestine II</image:title>
<image:caption>Three Christian organizations have jointly released a new congregational study guide for the confessional document A Moment of Truth: Faith in a Time of Genocide, the recently issued Kairos Palestine II statement from Palestinian Christian leaders. (Issued Nov. 2025). Developed by The Palestine Justice Network (PJN) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), with United Methodists for Kairos Response (UMKR), and Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA), the study guide is a free digital download. It is available now at our websites in February, for use as a 2026 Lenten Study and throughout the year. This resource invites congregations into a sacred dialogue with the Kairos Palestine II document—a living confession born from the heart of Palestinian Christian suffering. To study it during Lent, that ancient season of preparation and renewal, is to walk the path of baptism once more: to rediscover what it means to pledge our faith in Christ and to boldly renounce the sin and evil alive in our world today. A free PDF download and hard copies ($70/pack of 10) are now available!</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - The PJN is advocating for two overtures going to the 227th General Assembly!</image:title>
<image:caption>The first overture would empower the PC(USA) to officially recognize and refer to the catastrophe in Gaza as a genocide. It would also enable the Office of Public Witness to lobby Congress for an arms embargo on Israel. The second overture directs the Office of Public Witness to urge Congress and the President to enact a full trade embargo on Israel until Palestinians achieve their full slate of human rights, including an end to the occupation, an end to apartheid policies, and the right to return to their homeland. Watch PJN members, Noushin Framke explain the genocide overture and Bob Ross introduce the trade embargo overture!</image:caption>

<image:title>Who Are We? - Our Logo</image:title>
<image:caption>Our logo is based on this ceramic tile from the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem. The Armenian community in Jerusalem is known for their ceramic and tile works with their unique style, well-represented by this tile. PJN was mandated by the 2004 General Assembly and in 2006, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) organized a trip to Palestine/Israel under the Peacemaking Program called "Steps Towards Peace." That trip is now affectionately called "the trip of 100" and it formed the foundation of our membership. This tile was gifted to a staff member who helped organize that trip. The buildings depicted on the tile represent all three Abrahamic faiths; we have stylized it and simplified it for our logo, which was rendered by Martha Reese.</image:caption>

<image:title>Zionism Unsettled: A Congregational Study Guide - What role have Zionism and Christian Zionism played in shaping attitudes and driving historical developments in the Middle East and around the world? How do Christians, Jews, and Muslims understand the competing claims to the land of Palestine and Israel? What steps can be taken to bring peace, reconciliation, and justice to the homeland that Palestinians and Israelis share? Now also available in e-book format on Kindle, Zionism Unsettled is a 74-page full color illustrated booklet with free online companion video episodes that embraces these critical issues fearlessly and with inspiring scope. The guide draws together compelling and diverse viewpoints from Jews, Muslims, and Christians in Israel, Palestine, the US, and around the globe. By contrasting mainstream perceptions with important perspectives frequently ignored in the media, Zionism Unsettled is an invaluable guide to a deeper understanding. Published by the denomination’s Palestine Justice Network, Zionism Unsettled does not represent the views of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).</image:title>

<image:title>Kairos Palestine: A Moment of Truth - Kairos Palestine is the "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" of our time. This Confession of Faith, written in 2009 by a broad spectrum of Palestinian Christian leaders, is addressed to Palestinians, Israelis, the international community--as well as all the churches of the world. It lifts up the classical theological virtues of faith, hope, and love that lie at the heart of the Christian Gospel, and affirms that resistance to injustice and oppression is firmly grounded in these principles. It is both an anguished cry in a dark hour and a profound testament to unquenchable hope. This special 24-page PJN (formerly IPMN) publication pairs the Kairos Palestine statement with a three-week study plan that provides individual readers and congregational groups with essential historical, political, and theological context as well as a list of thought-provoking questions to stimulate reflection and discussion. The booklet is an excellent guide for readers undertaking an individual study of the document.</image:title>

<image:title>PJN Grants Approved in 2017 - PJN Grants Approved in 2017</image:title>
<image:caption>Dear PJN Friends, Below you will find the grant proposals which were approved in October by the Steering Committee and shared with those who attended the annual meeting. As many of you will remember, we did not give out grants last year because we could not implement a vetting process which would satisfy the PCUSA regarding organizations which applied for grants who were not our mission partners. That is to say, we couldn’t verify who they were and did the work they claimed to do. Since 2016, we have worked out a vetting process and were pleased to be able to allocate both the 2016 and 2017 funds, totaling $38,000 for grants at this time. We received nine applications (three of which were applying for a second grant and one of which was applying a second time for a first grant), and because we had more funds than in the past, we were able to give a grant to each of the nine projects. Not only did we have more funds, but we genuinely felt that each of the projects was worthy of our support. Much prayerful consideration was given to each application as the sub-committee reviewed and rated each one; two conference calls brought us to our final recommendations. The list of grant recipients are listed below in alphabetical order. Most sincerely and enthusiastically, PJN Grants Committee</image:caption>

<image:title>PJN Grants Approved in 2017 - American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese Jerusalem — “Mobile Clinic Equipment for St. Luke’s Hospital” in Nablus, West Bank</image:title>
<image:caption>AFEDJ is a non-political, independent nonprofit which acts as a partner to the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem and is the sole non-profit organization in the US dedicated to supporting the humanitarian institutions of the Episcopal Diocese. AFEDJ’s request is for IPMN to contribute funds for a new Lutech, Datalyst 500 fetal heart monitor to be used in a mobile unit clinic which extends the care of St. Luke’s Hospital in Nablus. These mobile clinics are central to the care given by St. Luke’s because many patients are unable to travel to St. Luke’s due to the security checkpoints and violence done toward Palestinians by some inhabitants of nearby Israeli settlements. High-quality care to pregnant women is one of the primary services that St. Luke’s staff provides, and each mobile clinic van needs to have an ultrasound fetal heart monitor. These monitors are particularly necessary in late pregnancy and during labor. A grant of $4,500 was approved for one heart monitor.</image:caption>

<image:caption>ANERA is a registered non-governmental, non-profit, international organization established in 1968 to advance the well-being of communities in the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon. Today, ANERA responds to the economic, health and educational needs of the most marginalized people in the Middle East. In the West Bank and Gaza, only one-third of all four- and five-year-olds are enrolled in preschool. ANERA is committed to fostering safe and effective spaces in which Palestinian children can learn and grow. ANERA has built or renovated 10% of the existing preschools in the West Bank and Gaza. ANERA requested a grant to furnish Zuhour Al-Walajeh Preschool with educational and age-appropriate toys, learning materials, outdoor play equipment, and furniture. Zuhour Al-Walajeh is a traditional agricultural village located just four kilometers northwest of Bethlehem. A grant of $3,500 for educational equipment was approved.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Under the leadership of Bethlehem Bible College, four “Christ at the Checkpoint” conferences have been held during the past 10 years, at which between 300 and 700 participants attended. In May 2018, the fifth international conference will take place with the theme, “Jesus at the Center: The Centrality of Jesus in our Theology, Advocacy, and Mission.” The group describes itself as follows, “We are a community of Evangelical Christians who believe that following Jesus with integrity means that our lives are formed by our love for God, the teaching of the Bible and a fearless life of discipleship (within the context) of Israeli-Palestinian conflict…We wish to find Jesus at the center of everything we do and to make his life our life, which means finding courageous love for Palestinian Arabs and Israeli Jews alike.” The conference will be led by Palestinian Christians, and all Evangelical Christians everywhere are invited to attend in hopes…this conference will provide a much-needed platform for Evangelical Christians to learn about and become engaged in working towards Christ-led solutions for peace. The conference will be four days of lectures, small group discussions and workshops as well as field trips to different places that are “hot zones” in the conflict. The registrations for all participants are kept reasonable; therefore, the amount needed to make up the difference between the income from the registrations and the expenses is $63,000. A grant of $4,400 to be used toward these conference expenses was approved.</image:caption>

<image:title>PJN Grants Approved in 2017 - Bright Stars of Bethlehem— “Dar al-Kalima University Scholarships” in Bethlehem</image:title>
<image:caption>Bright Stars of Bethlehem, NFP is the US 50l(c)(3) organization that supports the work of the Diyar Consortium and the ministries and programs begun through Christmas Lutheran Church in 1995. Dar Al-Kalima University, accredited in 2013 as a four-year (BA) institution, is the only Lutheran/Christian university/college in the Middle East dedicated to arts and culture education for Palestinian students seeking economical and self-sustaining futures in their homeland. The focus on the arts and culture is critical for people living under occupation in which it is easy to lose one’s identity and narrative. The Scholarship Stars program is for Dar al-Kalima (DAK) students enrolled at the University, where a full year’s tuition is $3,600 (USD). The student body is composed of 378 full and part-time students with the demographics of 60% Muslim, 40% Christian; 51% female, 49% male with ages ranging from 21-53. Almost all the students receive scholarship assistance. The goal of Scholarship Stars is to support 100 full time students by raising $360,000 over two years beginning in January, 2017. Upon graduation; there are many teaching positions available in the 600 elementary schools (public and private) in the West Bank, as well as many graduates become well prepared to begin their own viable businesses. A grant of $3,600 was approved for a one-year scholarship.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Churches for Middle East Peace is a 501(c)(3) coalition of 27 national Church denominations and organizations in Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and Evangelical traditions. CMEP’s Congressional Engagement program (CE) exists to develop and grow CMEP’s capacity to engage Congress in order to advocate effectively for U.S. policies that promote a comprehensive, just and secure resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This project involves the re-establishing of the Interfaith Advisory Group (IAG) to elevate and bring together the voices of Christian, Muslim and Jewish civil society leaders engaged in peace and justice work in Palestinian and Israeli communities. While strengthening interfaith relationships, the work of the IAG will lift up the voices of Palestinians and Israelis as they also inform CMEP’s advocacy with U.S. and International policy makers. A grant of $3,000 was approved for the expenses of re-organizing the Interfaith Advisory Group.</image:caption>

<image:title>PJN Grants Approved in 2017 - Hebron International Resources Network (HIRN)— “Increasing the Chances of Bedouin Girls Education in Hebron Governorate” in Hebron</image:title>
<image:caption>HIRN’s mission is to improve access to education for the most vulnerable sectors of the Palestinian communities. This particular project would provide a classroom to expand a unisex school for girls in a small, traditional Bedouin community of Zweidin in the South Hebron Hills. In the public education settings boys and girls attend school in mixed classes. Families tend to force their girls to drop out in early stages to prevent mixing the genders. Having a unisex school allows the girls to continue their education up through high school. Over the past three years, the community has created such a school which now provides classes for 70 girls. By adding another two classrooms and bathroom facilities, the school could expand its student body by 35 students to a total of 105. With a secondary education, research shows the students will have higher family incomes, marry later, have fewer children and at an older age and invest in their own children’s education. A grant of $6,000 was approved for the purchase of one pre-fab classroom.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Jahalin Solidarity is a non-profit registered in Ramallah, which aims to improve and develop Palestinian society (especially for Bedouin). This project would create five filmlets to be used in social media to introduce Bedouins to the Israeli and Palestinian publics, neither of which understand the Bedouin, who are marginalized by both groups. The subjects of these filmlets will be five Bedouin spokespersons who will speak about what being Bedouin means to them. It is hoped that these messages will help the public to identify with the Bedouin and to realize that they are not being treated fairly. At this point, Bedouin are not “seen” by the Israelis or the Palestinians. Hopefully, through this project, the Bedouins will become more visible and their voices more clearly heard. A grant of $3,000 toward the producing of the first filmlet was approved.</image:caption>

<image:title>PJN Grants Approved in 2017 - Vision Association for Culture and Arts (VACA and also referred to as the House of Hope) – “Grade Levels Expansion of VACA School” in Bethany, West Bank</image:title>
<image:caption>VACA provides an elementary school for the Bethany villages of Al-Eizariya, Abu Dis and Al-Sawahera, which are increasingly isolated due to the barrier wall and restrictions imposed by the Israeli army. This marginalization diminishes resources for the arts and leaves community members feeling that their cultural heritage is disappearing. Particularly children experience a sense of hopelessness in this environment. VACA was established in 2008 to promote freedom, independence and justice by increasing cultural, artistic and literary awareness among Palestinian children. This program aims to empower children with creative self-expression and nonviolent communication skills. VACA operates the House of Hope, which is a kindergarten and elementary school for low-income Palestinian children of Muslim and Christian faiths. In addition to the required academic curriculum, House of Hope teaches creative learning classes around arts, crafts, music and dance. So far, the school includes Kindergarten and Grades 1 and 2. This grant would allow them to expand their program to include children who have reached Grades 3 and 4. A grant of $4,000 was approved for equipment and educational materials necessary to add more students.</image:caption>

<image:title>PJN Grants Approved in 2017 - Yaffa Youth Movement Association (YYMA)— “Access to Higher Education for Palestinian Youth” in Yaffa</image:title>
<image:caption>YYMA has spent the last seven years, identifying critical needs of local residents in Yaffa and working to improve the life of community members. They believe that the only way forward is to build a unified and cohesive community that is empowered, resilient, inclusive and democratic. To do so, it is important to have a strong youth movement built on democratic values and human rights, strong community support and accountability, and solid partnerships. This particular project will support 27 high school youth from Yaffa, who will participate in a program to develop access to university and academic engagement. They hope to present and develop options for university entrance and academic career paths, which is important because marginalized Palestinian youth typically live in very non-academic environments. The 27 students will take part in field trips to meet students and staff at six universities in Israel. They will meet with Palestinian academics and/or Ph. D. candidates in informal settings to share ideas regarding academic career prospects. A grant $5,000 was approved to cover the expenses for the field trips.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Palestine Justice Network of the PC(USA) makes biennial grants to organizations/agencies that address human needs or economic development in Palestine, or provide education towards an understanding of Middle East history and present conflicts and challenges. This grant period, we were able to give grants to projects based in Palestine and Israel, as well as projects based in the U.S. Our grants totaled $41,000 for this award period for a total of 9 grantees. This year’s grant cycle brings the grand total of IPMN grants from 2007 to the present to $319,650. Thank you to our membership who donate for making this work possible! <image:title>PJN Grants for 2023 - Ahli Arab Hospital (AAH) based in Gaza</image:title>
<image:caption>This project was meant to support the AAH’s Children’s Trauma Clinic which serves 450 children/caregivers annually. The work of the Children’s Trauma Clinic is based on three (3) objectives – a five-day program to evaluate children for PTSD, putting children identified as needing further support into guided sessions using a therapeutic approach and a program for caregivers including education about trauma, advocacy training and psychosocial support activities. There is no Gazan family that has not been affected by the current and previous wars either physically, emotionally or economically with the children being affected the most. Update: The paragraph above is the essence of the original application from AFEDJ. With the bombing of the hospital since then, we have spoken with the AFEDJ director stressing that we want to continue this grant and to see that it goes towards “child trauma in Gaza” as overseen by AFEDJ. Furthermore, we allocated AAH an additional $7,000 for emergency Gaza relief. Grant approved - $5,000 Additional emergency relief grant - $7,000</image:caption>

<image:caption>Alrowwad is a non-profit, non-governmental organization distinguished by its philosophy of “Beautiful Resistance.” Through the “Images for Life” program, ACTS strives to empower children and youth in the Aida camp to creatively express themselves and share their personal stories, life and perspective through photography. “Images for Life” will offer three (3) classes that will target fifty (50) children who are selected due to the particularly difficult challenges they face as they deal with ongoing trauma and exhibit learning difficulties. The grant also provides a new camera which will be used beyond the life of the funded sessions. The project will build on the ripple effect in play among participating youth in each of Alrowwad’s program areas over the past 25 years. Alrowwad has witnessed many of its youth participants later become volunteers in various community projects, develop their skills to become program trainers themselves, and a few have even gone on to serve as Alrowwad board members. <image:title>PJN Grants for 2023 - Kayan Feminist Organization based in Palestine/Israel</image:title>
<image:caption>This grant will be used to help move forward the project called “Enhancing Palestinian Women’s and Youth’s Agency in the Digital Age.” The project comes from the belief that women’s and youth’s human rights are violated beyond the analog space and are becoming under increased threat in the digital space. During COVID-19, this was witnessed at alarming levels of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) against women and girls in the digital space in Israel. On an individual level, it aims to prevent dire psychological and societal consequences for each victim that seeks support via Kayan’s hotline. On the community level, the aim is to empower Palestinian women and youth by providing them with the necessary knowledge on identifying and dealing with digital violence through a series of trainings so that they can be better protected. On the societal level, the aim is to inspire long-lasting change. Grant approved - $4,000</image:caption>

<image:title>PJN Grants for 2023 - I Witness Silwan أَنَا شَاهِدٌ عَلَى سِلْوَان based in Jerusalem and the United States</image:title>
<image:caption>I Witness Silwan is a project of US-based Art Forces and East Jerusalem-based Madaa-Silwan Creative Center (MCC) taking place in Silwan, East Jerusalem. This grant will be used to develop four (4) new murals and two (2) new multimedia walking tours with local Palestinian youth and residents in partnership with MCC and international artists. With the inclusion of the Silwan community involving international solidarity, I Witness Silwan contributes to the local and global resistance movements working to end Israeli colonization and dispossession. This grant will build on an I Witness Silwan project that has been underway since 2019 and will build on the successes thus far. To date, dozens of murals have been developed that are an intervention in the built environment. These murals have been well received by the community, those involved in their development, local residents and the many tourists who are curious to know more about their development, meaning and background. Art Force has completed several videos of tours of Silwan which activist organizations use in the work. <image:caption>The Healing Through Art and Expression: A Safe Space Initiative for Palestinian Youth in Birzeit offers weekly art therapy, music therapy, and breath work sessions over six months, each addressing essential human needs for emotional healing and resilience. These activities will provide a critical space for young men and women, particularly those facing the ongoing trauma of military occupation, systemic oppression, and daily humiliation. By reducing stigma around mental health, especially for men, the project addresses a key cultural gap in emotional expression and support. It will equip participants with tools to process their experiences, build resilience, and foster mutual understanding within their community. In a context of overwhelming hardship, this initiative offers hope, dignity, and the means to rebuild emotional strength, positively impacting both individuals and the broader Palestinian society. <image:title>PJN Grants for 2024-2025 - Gaza Soup Kitchen</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the things that sets the Gaza Soup Kitchen (GSK) apart from other charities is that the vast majority of our supplies & cooking ingredients are resourced locally from the Gaza markets and produce. Throughout the past several months, the GSK team has developed excellent collaborative relationships with the local farmers and suppliers. This created win-win situations for both sides and promoted what’s left of the local economy. The GSK not only continued to provide daily meals in Gaza but also added more feeding locations. Currently GSK has 7 locations of feeding centers that feed thousands of needy Gazans in addition to meal delivery to patients and staff at the Gaza hospitals. GSK also operates a medical point that serves as an outpatient clinic where patients are seen by a physician, basic medications are dispensed, and minor procedures are performed. Needless to say, the limited supplies added extreme hardships on our team and on our financial resources. The GSK team members have been outsourcing and moving needed items such as vegetables from some farmland in south Gaza to the north of Gaza. While some charities stopped or cut back their operations due to the scarcity of supplies and the high prices of the limited resources, GSK expanded its reach despite the tremendous strain on our financial resources. Grant approved - $5,000</image:caption>
